Mobile Mural Project

This is Not A Truck Mobile Art Gallery is looking for muralists(graffiti,
classical, graphic) and artists of all kinds to paint models of vehicles
for a show in our mobile art gallery running May and June '09.  During the 
exhibition, viewers will vote for their favorite artist/ art piece.
The winning artist will then be invited to paint the outside of our mobile 
gallery (two 8'x20' sides and 8'x8' back) that we will drive around Chicago 
for the next few years.

To participate, please send a maximum of 8 pdf images of past work, as well 
as a resume and artist's statement to: blocartiststudios@gmail.com
Deadline for entry is March 17th, we will notify acceptance by March 20th.
Group projects are accepted. You can paint your own model or we will supply 
on to you. Painted scale model due to us by April 17th.

We are looking for painters of all walks: taggers/graffiti/
muralists/formal/informal -- If you know what a paintbrush is, we want you!


Accepting proposals for '09 season

BLOC Artist Studios is now accepting artists and proposals in
consideration for exhibition in This is Not a Truck  for April
Ð November 2009. 

We are accepting (but not limited to) artists with work in mixed 
media, sculpture, installation, visual art, video, performance, 
and sound art.  BLOC is also interested in working with 
individuals, groups, and art spaces on challenging and 
experimental projects.

When creating project proposals, please note the interior gallery
dimensions of TiNT: 7'8"x20' and 8'high.
Since we are mobile, all work must either be sturdy and fastened to 
the gallery sufaces or easily installed/deinstalled for transport.

All proposals and portfolios are due by February 30th, 2009.
Artists selected for the 2009 season will be notified by March 10th.

But will also accept mailed submissions including a SASE (if

Please submit:
> 10jpg or pdf images of your work (not less than 1000x1000 pixels Ð 
and may be submitted on CD), with a list of corresponding titles, 
media, and dates of images
> Curriculum Vitae and artist statement
> Video/Film work may be submitted on VHS or DVD
> If you are submitting a proposal, send a detailed project description 
and include supporting documents/images where necessary.
> A self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) if you request the return of
your samples. Work samples WILL NOT BE RETURNED without a SASE

This is Not a Truck provides installation for artists selected. TiNT also 
provides publicity and opening reception.  We do not provide insurance 
for work exhibited in TiNT, and all work show in TiNT is at the artistÕs 
own risk.
